Rufus kulam
Rufuskulam is a tank that has a beautiful rocky landscape. This tank is largely used for farming and there are many families living around the reservoir, depending on it for fishing. Also these villagers are glad to give tourists a ride on their flimsy traditional canoes. Also, this has a downstream lake that gives anyone who visits a nice bathing experience.
Painthaaru
Paintharu, having a mind-blowing scenic view of slow water flow, this tank is visited by many locals throughout the weekends for having a chill water bath and relaxing in the banks. Unnichai
Unnichai is known to be the largest one in Batticaloa and is as old as more than hundred years. The capacity of the dam is 68 million cubic meters and water from this irrigation tank is supplied to five divisional secretaries. This tank caters to many agricultural lands and covers the drinking demand too. This is one of the most visited tanks by local tourists during weekends for freshwater bath and barbecue experiences.
